6th Commandment Explained
"You shall not kill."
This couldn't be any clearer really could it. However, what do we do in War? Is that
to kill? Many would suggest not. Many times through the Bible, God gives direct commands to Kings and other leaders to make War against others and to kill them all.
With this in mind, it would be suggested that to kill in peace time when the victim is killed deliberately for no good reason is forbidden but if an individual is on the battlefield, fighting, it would be acceptable. Or, is it only acceptable when you have a direct command from God himself?
I think I'll just avoid taking another persons life whatever the situation, just in case.
Other passages in the Bible tell us that thinking bad thoughts towards someone else, wishing them dead would deem you guilty of committing murder also! Think kind thoughts, even to your enemies.
